It occupies a site which has had an inn standing on it since the 15th century.
The hotel dates back to the Spanish Armada. From 1745 to 1763 it was called the Antelope and was renamed . Some of the hotel's surviving original oak timbers pre-dates the Spanish Armada.
The hotel is in a perfect location for visits to the ancient sites of Avebury and Silbury Hill, Bowood House and Gardens. The Castle and Ball hotel remains a firm favourite with locals and travellers alike.
